I love every season in Maine, but if I were forced to pick a favorite, it would be fall. The shortening days and cool nights make for gorgeous blooms as well. Dahlias, eucalyptus, and late season snaps and lisis all start to put on a show once the heat of summer has passed, the mornings have a crispness, and the evenings sneak in earlier than you expect. This year I am very excited to be adding Heirloom Mums to our fall flowers, with their gorgeous autumnal colors, intriguing shapes, and stellar vase life. Dahlias, mums, and eucalyptus is a combination of which I will never grow tired.
What: 4 weeks of premium fall flowers.
When: Weekly bouquets starting mid-September (the week of 9/13).
Please Note: Dates are based on seed starting schedules and experience, but we are dealing with nature after all, and sometimes despite our best efforts, flowers and the weather have minds of their own. In order to provide the best quality flowers, we may shift dates slightly if crops bloom earlier or later than expected. If that happens, we’ll send plenty of communications to make sure you don’t miss out on your flowers.
Where: Saturday mornings on the farm, Wednesdays in Belfast, or Thursday evenings in Skowhegan. Select your desired location during checkout, and we’ll send all the details you need in your CSA welcome letter.
